Educational activities for preschoolers Winter

It 's always fun to use things in our children's lives every day in order to provoke discussion and educational activities. Since many of us currently in the middle of winter, the season is possible these kids a big issue, "study" for our.

Study time with preschoolers at home mainly consists of talking and laughing with them, to help out the details of the world around them. No pressure. A great moment in the company of an adult care.

To enter"Winter", ask your child what he knows about the seasons. Do you know the spring, summer, autumn and winter? Do you know what are the differences between the seasons in your area?

No report. Only a call and find out what you know. Tell him to look out the window and tell you what it is realized that trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens. Are there leaves visible? Outbreaks? Flowers? Green? Bare branches? Brown is due?

Find a photoPainting, or photograph in a book of winter landscape obvious. Ask your child if you know what the season in the image. What do you say what time of year is it? If you do not know what to choose them to show: bare branches, snow on the ground, the flowers, no, people hide in warm clothes, etc., the image of the eye and the child to describe their own words what has seen in the photos. Promote as much detail as possible, but remember to keep it under wrapsFun. This process of orally telling back what you have seen, helps cement the image in his memory.

To complete the discussion, enjoy together a long winter of photo books, as Ezra Jack Keats "Snowy Day" or the history of Alaska, 'Mama, Do You Love Me? "By Barbara M. Jooss. You can browse
these books online at:

Ask your child how people warm during the winter (warm clothes, gloves, fireplaces, warm houses, etc..) Have a brainstorming session. Then ask how he thinks animals stay warm in winter (thick fur, migrate to warmer climates, hibernate in caves, etc.).

Sometimes a preschool child may say things like, "Baby squirrels snuggle in a tree with a soft blanket to keep warm." Ask your dealer ifhas seen a real squirrel with a blanket. Do you think that is what really keep warm in winter, the cold? The line between fantasy and reality in preschoolers is sometimes thin ... hard not to take his son really just gently to think about how things actually occur in nature, coaxial.

But just because I do not think that everything has a good dose of reality, have fun and "pretend" to reflect on ways the animals can stay warm. For fun,Read one of these books, winter and wonderfully fun time by Jan Brett (a favorite word of my children's illustrators):

For fun, throw a collection of clothes and accessories in a bag or suitcase. Without looking at your child's hand in his pocket, a unique piece, and then they say, if the item is confiscated for use in winter -. Let the child explain why each item is or is not - appropriate season. Includes a variety of things in my pocket, like a hat, a pair of gloves or mittens, aopen sandals, a swimsuit, shorts, summer, sweater, snow boots, a wool scarf, a sleeveless blouse, etc.

Let your child finish the sentence: "Winter is ..." For example: Winter is ... "Cool" Winter is ... "Snowman" Winter is ... "Mittens" Winter is ... "The cocoa and marshmallows." Consider the child's response letter (it feels so official and his words written on paper). When you have something creative, you canalso print out little "Winter is the ..." Brochure with clip art of computer games for your child's winter responses. Or did you teach your child, your home "Winter is ..." Book. Or they can cut out pictures of winter, magazines and newspapers, pasting them on a large sheet of paper as "Winter is ..." Collage.

For the pleasure of exploring the glory of winter with your child!
