With the stocking still on his head (you do not look stupid at all Ho Ho Ho!) Make a knot in the surplus stocking hanging at the tip of the head. Take the node small, clean and tight and very close to your head when your hair center. This is the base for your hat / wig.

Pull the stocking over a football. This will keep the storage taught, as they would on their heads.

Starting from the node, stitch and secure with a length of tinsel to the stocking. Working in circlesAround the knot, tack the tinsel to the stocking. The threads can be approximately 3 to 4 CMS apart. If the hat / wig is one color, continues in a circle around until the sock is covered.

For two colors, take on the second length of tinsel alongside the first, and take turns with the colors to make the circle. The downward spiral tinsel is the stocking density. Covered Continue in this manner until the density is tinsel.
